1. Income is as important as are capital gains. Because most investors ignore income opportunities, income may be more important than are capital gains.
2. Most stock market indicators have never actually been tested. Most don’t work.
3. Most investors’ time horizons are much too short. Statistics indicate that daytrading is largely based on luck.
4. Bull markets are made of risk aversion and undervalued assets. They are not made of cheering and a rush to buy.
5. Diversification doesn’t depend on the number of asset classes in a portfolio.Rather, it depends on the correlations between the asset classes in a portfolio.
6. Balance sheets are generally more important than are income or cashflow statements..
7. Investors should focus strongly on GAAP accounting, and should pay little attention to “pro forma” or “unaudited” financial statements.
8. Investors should be providers of scarce capital. Return on capital is typically highest where capital is scarce.
9. Investors should research financial history as much as possible.
10. Leverage gives the illusion of wealth. Saving is wealth.

I read about these two sites from US News magazine. We sent a phone to cellforcash, they confirmed that they received it but they haven't sent us a check. We complained to the FTC but it's not likely anything will happen. In my follow up research, I saw that Wall Street Journal had also written favorable articles on this site. It's unfortunate that reputable publications give favorable publicity to suspect sites.
Gazelle - we have not tried, so don't know how reputable they are. At this point, I'm suspicious of anything not named AMAZON.

"Three very important things have happened in 3 days: Two major financial players get an equity infusion (Citi and Freddie Mac); and a high profile low quality ABS portfolio gets transfered at a real market price, in this case a $3b ABS portfolio sells for $800m at ETFC. These are the events that mark a bottom.."

In our continued efforts to reduce spend in this difficult economic environment, BNP Paribas has decided to reduce supplies available in the pantries in NJ and NY. We will no longer be replenishing bowls, plates, utensils, straws, etc and will be reducing the amount of milk available in the refrigerators. By reducing these products, we will save the bank more than $100,000 per year.
Please be advised that the milk in the pantries is intended for use with coffee only. Milk for cereal should be purchased directly by employees.
